Theater Research Project Plan

For my theater reasearch project  i would like to study French Religious Theater.

I am particuraly excited about this stlye and time, becuase I am taking French, and though im not strictly religious, i have been going to church for 16 years, and my osmosis have learned all of the major christian stories.

From my research i have learned that the first recorded French religious play was called “Adam” and was written in the twelth century. I would love to use this play, however, I do not speak latin and it says that much of the direction is in latin even though the text is in french. 

French Religious theater relates to the time period, verrrrrryy closellly, because religion was used as a means of celebration, punishment, government, and mostly as a binder and seperator of the general public.

I hope to have a hard copy of a script soon, one in english and one in french.
